Wasylyk challenges Gray to debate in Kelowna-Lake Country Conservative nomination race
KELOWNA – Conservative party candidate Renee Wasylyk wants Kelowna-Lake Country voters to see her in action before the April 6 constituency association vote that will choose who will run against Liberal Stephen Fuhr in the upcoming federal election.
Wasylyk said in a new release issued today, March 19, she has invited her competitor Tracy Gray to participate in a March 29 public forum from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Ramada Hotel.
“As I have been meeting with members in Kelowna and Lake Country, I have been asked time and time again about a forum," Wasylyk said. “I wanted to give people the opportunity to learn, to get activated for the election, and to make sure that the contestant they choose is done from a place of democracy.”
Each woman will be allowed a brief opening statement and to submit two questions they would like to answer. The rest of the session will be questions from the floor handled by moderator Dan Rogers, the executive director of Kelowna Chamber of Commerce.
The release says that a formal invitation to attend was sent to Gray earlier this week.
When iNFOnews.ca spoke to Gray yesterday, March 18, she said she had not heard anything about a debate and she was not immediately available for comment today.
