
Cause of Kamloops recycling centre fire undetermined
KAMLOOPS — The cause of a fire at a Kamloops recycling centre facility has yet to be determined.
Kamloops firefighters responded to a call yesterday, March 19, just after 4 p.m. for a fire that started outside of Emterra Environmental, according to Platoon Capt. Darryl Cooper.
Cooper says a cardboard baler caught on fire which then set a conveyor belt on fire.
"As to what intitially staretd the fire, it's undetermined," Cooper says.
Crews were on scene until around 8:30 p.m. yesterday.
