Cops cram cruiser in Lake Country

LAKE COUNTRY – A sure sign Christmas can’t be far away; the Cram the Cruiser event was held in Lake Country on Saturday.

The third annual event, put on by the Mounties from Kelowna and Lake Country, has been declared a huge success.

The officers and RCMP volunteers invited the pubic to come cram a police cruiser full of food at the Cooper’s Foods store.

The even gathered over 2,600 lbs of food and over $5,300 for the Lake Country Food Bank.

This year members of the Lake Country Fire Department showed up to serve chili for donations.

"Our largest donation this year came from Keith and Loretta Stutters, of Stutters Disaster Kleenup in Kelowna, who donated $2,000," Const. Jesse O'Donaghey says in a media release. "Todd Ryder, the manager of the Cooper's Foods in Lake Country, generously donated hundreds of the pre-packaged bags of food items."
