Unicyclists show off their skills at world championships in Montreal

MONTREAL – Some of the world’s most skilled athletes on one wheel are finishing up more than a week of showing off their moves in Montreal.

The Unicycling World Championships feature a wide range competitions — from long-distance races and synchronized group performances to team sports like hockey and basketball.

The gathering, known as Unicon, is held every two years in a different city.

Organizers say nearly 2,000 unicyclists and their families from more than a dozen countries are taking part this year.

Unicon 17 started July 30th and wraps up on Sunday.
