KAMLOOPS – A Clearwater man charged with first degree murder in the death of his former common-law wife made a brief appearance in court Monday morning.
Iain Drummond Scott appeared by video in provincial court to confirm Jennifer Currie of Surrey will be his lawyer.
Joel Gold will prosecute the case on behalf of the crown.
Scott was arrested after holding his three children hostage in a standoff with police on the Easter weekend. Angila Wilson, Scott's former common-law wife, was found dead in her home.
The couple's three children have since been adopted by Wilson's brother in Hope, B.C.
Scott will appear in court again by video on July 14. He is in custody at the North Fraser Pretrial Centre in Port Coquitlam.
