Relief as special needs woman found after three day search near Vancouver

PORT MOODY, B.C. – A 21-year-old special needs girl woman went missing near a lake in the suburbs of Vancouver has reportedly been found.

A couple of Vancouver media outlets say Joy Zhang was found dehydrated but safe.

Zhang disappeared near Sasamat Lake northeast of Vancouver Thursday after being separated from a group she was on a day excursion with.

The area around Sasamat lake is a mixture of thick forest and steep inclines, but has homes around it as well.

Police said Zhang has the mental capacity of a 10-year-old.

This weekend search and rescue teams had her family and friends calling out her name and singing her favourite song, in a bid to coax her out.
