DH Adam Lind activated off disabled list and rejoins Toronto Blue Jays

SEATTLE – The Toronto Blue Jays have activated Adam Lind off the 15-day disabled list and immediately placed him in the lineup against Seattle.

Lind was activated on Tuesday prior to the second game of a key series with the Mariners and was batting fourth in the Blue Jays’ lineup. Toronto designated for assignment left-handed pitcher Brad Mills after Monday night’s series opener to clear the roster spot.

Lind had been on the DL since July 8 with a right foot injury, missing 28 games. It was his second DL stint after missing time early in the season with a back injury.

Lind was hitting .320 with four homers and 27 RBIs when he suffered the foot injury. The Blue Jays also hope to get first baseman Edwin Encarnacion (quad) back this weekend in Chicago.
