10 killed, 17 injured in bus accident in Mexico

MEXICO CITY – A gas tanker truck has collided with a tour bus in the western Mexican state of Nayarit, killing 10 people.

State firefighters spokesman Javier Banuelos said Monday 17 other people were injured.

Photographs show the truck on its side and the driver’s side of the bus compacted and torn open. The gas truck did not explode.

Banuelos said the accident occurred Sunday on the highway between Compostela and Chapalilla.
