NJ mom sues Iowa company after instructional breast-feeding video is turned into pornography

FAIR LAWN, N.J. – A New Jersey mother is suing a production company after an instructional breast-feeding video she appeared in was taken by a third party and used to create pornography.

A federal court judge ruled last week that Maryann Sahoury’s lawsuit against the Meredith Corporation could proceed. Sahoury and her 1-month old daughter demonstrated breast-feeding techniques in a 2010 video designed to help new mothers.

Months later, Sahoury Googled herself and saw numerous links to pornographic sites and videos. A Google search of her infant daughter’s name also led to pornographic sites.

Sahoury says a producer told her her last name would not be used in the video, but it was, according to court documents. The Iowa-based production company says Sahoury signed a release allowing it to do so.
