Global Rainbow main attraction of this year’s Nuit Blanche festival in Toronto

TORONTO – The international laser display Global Rainbow is coming to Toronto this October.

Created by New York artist Yvette Mattern, it has been displayed in cities around the world since 2009.

In Toronto, it will light up the night sky casting beams of colours up to 60 kilometres.

The show will be part of the ninth edition of Scotiabank Nuit Blanche, an all-night arts festival scheduled for Oct. 4.

The sunset-to-sunrise festival will feature more than 120 projects created by nearly 400 local, national and international artists.

The organizers also plan to expand Nuit Blanche into new neighbourhoods, including Chinatown, Fort York and Roundhouse Park this year.
