Sleeping B.C. girl abducted from bedroom and sexually assaulted: RCMP

SURREY, B.C. – Police say a nine-year-old girl was abducted from her bedroom while she slept and sexually assaulted by a man who then left her in a nearby yard in Surrey, B.C.

RCMP say the girl’s mother called 911 on Wednesday night to say her daughter fled back to her home after the alleged abuser took off.

They say the child was taken from her room through an open window then assaulted in a park, and is now receiving care in hospital.

Police canvassed the neighbourhood Thursday trying to find a suspect.

They’re warning the public to keep windows secured, especially in ground-floor suites.

  1. Katie MacArthur I asked a straight out question , because in to-day’s society , i don’t leave my doors or windows unlocked .and especially in Surrey . im not pointing fingers or pointing any fingers but i hope it’s a lesson learned by everyone for there children . Last year here in Kelowna at 7 pm still early evening a women was murdered in her home while the 2 kids were upstairs he got in from one window not being locked in the basement . there are predators everywhere , so if you want to say that was an Ass thing to say go for but im locking my windows . This society is nut’s . Sorry , but if being blunt saves another child so be it . just be extra careful

  2. why would u leave your Child’s window open in this society.
