LPGA Tour money leader Stacy Lewis tops CN Canadian Women’s Open field

COQUITLAM, B.C. – Stacy Lewis, the LPGA Tour’s money leader, will top the field for the US$2-million CN Canadian Women’s Open later this month.

In fact, tournament organizers announced Friday that the top-20 players on the LPGA Tour’s money list have confirmed their entry into the tournament, which will be held Aug. 20-26 at the Vancouver Golf Club.

Lewis is a three-time Tour winner and has won two events this season. She has earned over $1.2 million in 2012 and finished tied for second in last year’s CN Canadian Women’s Open.

LPGA Tour veterans Alena Sharp of Hamilton and Lorie Kane of Charlottetown top the list of 13 Canadians in the field. The others include: Rebecca Lee-Bentham of Richmond Hill, Ont., Stephanie Sherlock of Barrie, Ont., Samantha Richdale of Kelowna, B.C., Isabelle Beisiegel of Sainte-Hilaire, Que., Jessica Shepley of Oakville, Ont., Kirby Dreher of Fort St. John, B.C., Sara Maude Juneau of Fossambault, Que., Jennifer Kirby of Paris, Ont., Jisoo Keel of Coquitlam, Brittany Marchand of Orangeville, Ont., and Brooke Henderson of Smiths Falls, Ont.
