The Latest: Anchorage police investigate fatal shooting

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – The Latest on a fatal shooting in Anchorage’s Government Hill neighbourhood (all times local):

11:45 a.m.

Anchorage police have released the name of a man found shot to death in the city’s Government Hill neighbourhood.

Police say the man who died is 29-year-old Ian Alex Bobich.

No one has been arrested in the shooting and no charges have been filed.

Police just before 11 p.m. Monday took calls of shots fired and responding officers found a Bobich mortally wounded outside a home on Elm Street.

Anchorage police are investigating a shooting that left a man dead in the Government Hill neighbourhood.

Dispatchers just before 11 p.m. Monday took calls of shots fired near Elm Street and east Bluff Drive.

Responding officers found a man shot outside a home on Elm Street.

He was declared dead at the scene.

Police say the man was not positively identified and no suspect is in custody.

They’re asking for anyone with information to contact them.
