Bombardier confirms that CSeries aircraft flight testing has resumed

MONTREAL – Bombardier says that test flights resumed for its CSeries aircraft after the jet was grounded for more than three months due to an engine failure.

The airplane maker says one of the CSeries aircraft took flight on Sunday at Bombardier’s facility in Mirabel, near Montreal.

Bombardier (TSX:BBD) says the CSeries entry into service is still on track for the second half of 2015.

The company says the test flights came after a review of the engine problem that occurred during ground maintenance last May 29 at the Mirabel facility.

Bombardier has worked with engine maker Pratt & Whitney to come up with a fix for the engine’s oil lubrication system.

Before flight tests had resumed, the plane had completed 330 hours of the 2,400 hours of flight tests required to win certification from Transport Canada.
