Man injured in targeted home invasion

Police say four people with masks entered a home early this morning brandishing weapons and beat and robbed the people inside in a targeted attack.

According to RCMP Sgt. Edward Preto, several adults were home in the 1000 block of Kemano St. when the robbers entered with "sharp-edged weapons" around 1:18 a.m. He said victims of the home invasion fought back and in the altercation, pulled the mask off an assailant revealing a woman behind the mask. A man from the home was injured in the attack after being punched before the robbers stolen several items from the residence.

"Police believe this was a targeted event and are actively looking for the suspects that fled the scene in black car," Preto said in a news release.
