iNFOnews welcomes Kathy Michaels as editor

iNFOnews.ca is excited to announce that Kathy Michaels has joined our news team as an editor in Kelowna.

You already know her work. She is an award-winning reporter who has been breaking stories from the Okanagan, primarily Kelowna, for more than ten years.

She comes to us from the Kelowna Capital News where she was the first woman named the newspaper’s Managing Editor.

Kathy’s skills and personality are perfect for our goals: proving that local news on the web can be inquisitive and edgy, yet still responsible and careful; fresh, lively and interesting without pandering or propaganda.

“I’m really looking forward to working with the iNFOnews team,” she said. “I’ve always appreciated the work they do and I’m excited to help them take the next step."

News is best when it's local, relevant, timely and interesting. That's our focus every day.

We are on the ground in Penticton, Vernon, Kelowna and Kamloops to bring you the stories that matter most.

Marshall may call West Kelowna home, but after 16 years in local news and 14 in the Okanagan, he knows better than to tell readers in other communities what is "news' to them. He relies on resident reporters to reflect their own community priorities and needs. As the newsroom leader, his job is making those reporters better, ensuring accuracy, fairness and meeting the highest standards of journalism.
