Police: Boy uses fireworks to intentionally set fire to home

DOTHAN, Ala. – Police say a 14-year-old boy used fireworks to intentionally set fire to a South Alabama home.

WFSA (http://bit.ly/29MdpX1 ) reports Captain Will Benny of the Dothan Police Department said Tuesday the home was occupied by three juveniles when some other juveniles came to the house and one teen threw fireworks inside the front door, setting a small fire on Saturday evening.

Police say no one was injured in the fire but there was damage to the siding. The occupants are still able to live in the home.

The teen, whose name is not being released because of his age, was taken to Southeast Alabama Diversion Center. He is accused of first degree arson. It was not immediately known if he had an attorney.

Dothan is about 105 miles southeast of Montgomery.
