Maine snake with Twitter following want to give Trump a hug

WESTBROOK, Maine – A large snake believed to be lurking along a riverbank in Maine doesn’t appear to be a fan of Donald Trump.

In a Twitter account created for the snake dubbed Wessie by local residents, Wessie P. Thon says it would like to give the Republican presidential nominee a “really long hug.” The account had more than 1,300 followers as of late Monday.

The reptile created a media sensation when it was seen earlier this summer eating a beaver along a riverbank in Westbrook.

In its Twitter profile, Wessie P. Thon says it’s just “hanging out in Westbrook, shedding my skin.”

Officials believe the reptile is likely a constrictor or a python.

The discovery of a 10-foot snakeskin a week ago indicates it’s still around, and law enforcement officials are warning residents to be on the lookout.
