Power restored to National Mall, some museums still closed
WASHINGTON – Power has been restored to several museums and other buildings along the National Mall.
Power went out in the early afternoon Friday, leaving several museums in the dark.
A Pepco spokesman tells The Washington Post (http://wapo.st/2aljqeb ) that power was restored just after 10 a.m. on Saturday.
The Smithsonian said on Twitter early Saturday that several of its locations will remain closed for the day. That includes the Hirshhorn Museum, the National Museum of African Art, the National Museum of the American Indian and the Freer and Sackler galleries.
