No gas in Falkland for much of June

VERNON – Motorists driving on Highway 97 between Kamloops and Vernon will need to fill up before hitting the road as the only gas station between the two centres is set to close for much of June.

The Petro-Canada gas station in Falkland will be closed for gas from June 3 to June 28 due to renovations.

The Petro-Can manager said the gas station is closing so new storage tanks can be installed and the place will be completed ripped up.

The Falkland gas station is the only gas station on this stretch of Highway 97, so motorists travelling on the route will now have to plan accordingly and make sure they have enough fuel for the approximately 100-kilometre gas station-free drive.
