WILD WEDNESDAY: What you need to know about the Canada goose and its young

Mid-spring is breeding season for the Canada goose.

The wild goose can be found throughout wetlands across Canada and can lay up to eight eggs in a clutch, according to WildSafeBC.

The goslings also stay with their parents for up to a year. 

WildSafeBC reminds the public geese will protect their nests and young from humans. If you're ever charged by a defensive goose, it is best to retreat slowly so the bird knows you mean no harm.
