Alyssa Milano quits ‘Mistresses’ because production moved to Vancouver

TORONTO – Alyssa Milano says she has quit the primetime soap “Mistresses” because it moved production from Los Angeles to Vancouver.

The 41-year-old “Charmed” star explained in a note on her website that she didn’t want to uproot her family in southern California for the sake of the ABC series.

The show focuses on four female friends embroiled in a variety of complex or scandalous relationships.

Milano is the show’s headline star, acting alongside Yunjin Kim of “Lost,” Rochelle Aytes and Jes Macallan.

The show was renewed for a third season on Tuesday.

In her note, Milano said the move to B.C. was made for “financial reasons” after two “wonderful seasons” in L.A.

“It’s with a heavy heart that I have decided that I can’t relocate,” Milano wrote. “I have two babies under four. Being a mother and wife comes first and I just cannot uproot my children and separate the family by moving away.

“I will miss this job desperately and wish everyone the absolute best.”
