KELOWNA – The Fire Department was called in after a white powder was discovered on the ground at Davie Road Park by a City of Kelowna worker this morning.
The Fire Department asked for the assistance of the Hazardous Materials Response Team to help secure the scene before going in, suited up in their 'B' suits, with test equipment.
The powder turned out to be flour, for baking.
A total of 15 personnel responded with a HAZMAT truck, one engine and a safety and command truck. An evacuation was not required because the area was stable with no wind.
