iN VIDEO: Penticton RCMP high speed chase caught on dash cam

PENTICTON – A police chase captured on dash cam video led to the arrest of man designated a prolific offender by Penticton RCMP.

The action took place on Penticton Indian reserve lands around 4:30 p.m. yesterday, June 11. Joseph Pierre posted the dash cam video to YouTube.

RCMP say the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed as police attempted to pull it over, but police, were able to intercept the vehicle and slow it down by deploying a spike belt.

The driver took off on foot while RCMP arrested the passanger, Lawrence Jordan Brown, 28, who was wanted on several outstanding warrants and was arrested by police.

The driver was apprehended a short time later.

I have been looking for news in the South Okanagan - SImilkameen for 20 years, having turned a part time lifelong interest into a full time profession. After five years publishing a local newsletter, several years working as a correspondent / stringer for several local newspapers and seven years as editor of a Similkameen weekly newspaper, I joined iNFOnews.ca in 2014. As a member of the Kaleden community, I have been involved in the Kaleden Volunteer Fire Department for 22 years, and also serve as a trustee on the Kaleden Irrigation District board.
I am currently married to my wife Judy, of 26 years. We are empty-nesters who enjoy living in Kaleden with our Welsh Terrier, Angus, and cat, Tibbs.
Our two daughters, Meagan and Hayley, reside in Richmond and Victoria, respectively.
