Kelowna SPCA looking for donations to help injured mama cat

KELOWNA – The Kelowna branch of the B.C. SPCA is looking for help to cover medical costs for Louise, an injured mother cat who is in recovery from emergency surgery.

Louise gave birth in a horse’s stall, startling the horse which reared and landed on her leg, according to a B.C. SPCA media release. Fortunately, no kittens were harmed, however, Louise’s leg had to be amputated.

Louise will be spayed and ready for adoption in about two months once her two kittens, Sprout and Seed, have found good homes. 

Louise’s medical and associated care costs are expected to reach $2,210.
