KELOWNA – Three chicks have hatched in a Kelowna osprey nest.

Fortis B.C. says in a media release it relocated the nest on Benvoulin Road in Kelowna from a nearby utility pole back in 2007 and a mated pair of birds has returned each year.

The ospreys successfully hatched three chicks on Wednesday, June 12.

"A mated pair has returned each year, and although many successful chicks have hatched over this time, some eggs have not, which makes three successful chicks very exciting to us," Fortis B.C. spokesperson Nicole Brown says in the release.

For those who want to take a peak at the new babies, Fortis B.C. has an osprey cam set up and it's streaming live on Facebook from May to September. You can also check out a live stream on Vimeo here.
