6 Kamloops food trucks you should try this summer

KAMLOOPS — Food truck season is rolling in.

With summer right around the corner, you’ll probably see more food trucks popping up at community events.

Here are six mobile eateries worth checking out in the Tournament Capital or in the nearby area.

Eats Amore

Eats Amore is a mobile food truck in Kamloops serving Italian cuisine. They specialize in serving organic, local and sustainable food. They serve pastas, salads, sandwiches, and of course desserts including gelato.

The easiest way to keep truck of this food truck is through their social media accounts such as Facebook or Instagram as they usually post to their pages a day before they head out to a location.

Starting in July, Eats Amore will be at Music in the Park every Wednesday night at Riverside Park. They are usually at Thompson Rivers University on Thursdays for the lunch rush from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Fridays, the food truck is normally parked at the corner of 2 Avenue and Seymour Street at St. Andrews on the Square from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The Hot Mess

Hot Mess is a Mexican fusion cuisine truck offering deluxe tacos, taco salads, cheesy tater tots, nachos, housemade chips and much more.

Some customer favourites include the Big Ol’ Shrimp taco, bacon cheeseburger taco and the Mexican Poutine.

Hot Mess normally posts their location schedule weekly every Monday to Facebook and Instagram.

A & D Dogs Etc.

This Kamloops food truck not only serves delicious hot dogs, but they also do homemade burgers, fresh fried bannock and bannock dogs.

You’ll find it every Wednesday night at Music in the Park at Riverside Park throughout July and August.

Cookshack Cravings

Cookshack travels from the South Okanagan to the North Cariboo offering an international menu.

It has everything from smokies, taco salad bags, deep fried pickles, Jamaican jerk tacos, perogies and even deep fried chocolate bars.

They’ll be at select Wednesday nights for Kamloops Music in the Park.

Be TEAsed Restaurant & food truck

Now this food truck is actually a restaurant here in Kamloops located inside the Landmark buildings in Sahali. But Be TEAsed also runs a food truck that operates across the Shuswap and caters to specific events in Kamloops.

The restaurant and food truck offer a homemade healthy menu serving salads, wraps, sandwiches, soups and more.

Almost the the entire menu is wheat-free and also includes various vegan options.

Ken’s Mobile Catering

You’ll find Ken’s Mobile Catering food trailer at Riverside Park this summer on select Wednesday nights for Music in the Park.

It offers burgers, smokies, bratwursts and hot dogs and also serves breakfast.

Recently, the food trailer has been parked on 8 Street at Country Auto Sales on the North Shore serving up breakfast and lunch.
