
Here’s what the Kamloops Pride 2019 events lineup looks like
KAMLOOPS —Kamloops Pride has announced its events lineup for this year’s pride week.
The City’s third annual Pride week and Parade will take place from Aug.19 to 25.
Here are the events scheduled to take place:
Aug. 19 – Drag Me To The Movies
This event is for youth aged 12 to 18 only. Drag performer Kendall Gender willl hit the stage for a performance. Then, there will be a screening for the movie ‘Love, Simon’.
A $15 ticket is for both the performance and movie. Snacks will be provided by donation.
Aug. 20 – Design your Pride Poster and Art Night
This free event is for everyone. Head to the Thompson Rivers University gymnasium for an artsy evening to make your own sign for the 2019 Kamloops Pride Parade. Materials will be provided.
Aug. 20 – Clean, Sober, Proud! Dance Party
Celebrate pride in an environment free of alcohol and other substances. Tickets are $5 and alcohol-free beverages are free.
Aug. 21 – Perspectives in Pride: Panel Discussion
Join Kamloops Pride for an evening of discussion at the Thompson-Nicola Regional Library downtown from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Aug. 22 – Seeking Your Feedback – RCMP and LGBTQ2S+ Communities
Kamloops Pride is seeking feedback from the community regarding police and LGBTQ2S+ communities.

Aug. 22 – Laughing Out Loud Comedy Showcase
Vancouver-based comedian Steev Letts will be this year’s headliner for pride week’s comedy night and Kelby DeLaet will open the show. The event is for a 19-plus audience and will take place at the Commodore Grand Cafe and Lounge starting at 8 p.m.
Aug. 23 – Glitter on the Runway Drag Extravaganza
Head to the Colombo Lodge to watch a trio of the province’s top drag performers Raye Sunshine, Karmella Barr, and Dank Sinatra. This is one of Kamloops Pride Week’s most popular events.
Aug. 24 – Drag Brunch
Kamloops Pride Week presents Pride Week Drag Brunch at the Match Eatery and Public House. Doors open at 10 a.m. and there will be a show starting at 11 a.m.
Aug. 24 – Heartbeats Pride Dance
Celebrate the spirt of Pride with a dance party at the Colombo Lodge with beats by D.J. Krista.
Aug. 25 – 3rd Annual Downtown Pride Parade
Individuals, businesses, community organizations can register to march in this year’s pride parade. This year, the location will be at Stuart Wood Elementary School on St. Paul Street.
Aug. 25 – Official Pride Afterparty
Celebrate the end of Pride Week with an afterparty at The Noble Pig Brewhouse.
