Matteo Drobac stopped 23 shots for his first OHL shutout as the Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Erie Otters 3-0 on Friday night.
Mason McTavish and Patrick Thomas had a goal and an assist apiece for the Bulldogs (45-12-3-2). Avery Hayes also scored as Hamilton, which clinched the East Division and home-ice advantage for the first three rounds of the playoffs.
In other action, it was: Oshawa Generals 4, Kingston Frontenacs 3 (SO); Ottawa 67’s 6, Mississauga Steelheads 5; Niagara IceDogs 5, Sudbury Wolves 4 (SO); Soo Greyhounds 9, Saginaw Spirit 3; Guelph Storm 6, Owen Sound Attack 5 (OT); Windsor Spitfires 5, Kitchener Rangers 3; and Flint Firebirds 3, London Knights 1.
At Erie, Pa., Aidan Campbell stopped 22 shots for the Otters (24-32-2-2).
Generals 4, Frontenacs 3 (SO)
At Kingston, Ont., Ty Tullio and Ryan Stepien scored in the shootout for Oshawa (28-29-1-5). Shane Wright had the lone shootout goal forthe Frontenacs (37-20-3-1).
67’s 6, Steelheads 5
At Ottawa, Tyler Boucher had a goal and two assists to pace the 67’s (26-29-2-6). James Hardie scored twice for Mississauga (35-22-2-5).
IceDogs 5, Wolves 4 (SO)
At Sudbury, Ont., Juan Copeland and Pano Fimis scored shootout goals for Niagara (21-37-3-1). David Goyette had the lone shootout goal for the Wolves (22-33-3-4).
Greyhounds 9, Spirit 3
At Sault Ste Marie, Ont., Jack Thompson and Rory Kerins both had a goal and three assists to pace the Greyhounds (34-21-6-1). Pavel Mintyukov, Pacey Schlueting and Nick Wong scored for Saginaw (21-40-1-0).
Storm 6, Attack 5 (OT)
At Guelph, Ont., Danny Zhilkin’s goal 37 seconds into overtime earned the Storm (30-23-5-2) the win. William Portokalis had a goal and an assist for Owen Sound (31-24-5-3).
Spitfires 5, Rangers 3
At Kitchener, Ont., Will Cuylle and Pasquale Zito broke a 3-3 tie with third-period goals for Windsor (40-16-3-3). Reid Valade scored twice for the Rangers (27-29-2-2).
Firebirds 3, Knights 1
At London, Ont., Sahil Panwar and Gavin Hayes snapped a 1-1 tie with third-period goals for Flint (38-19-1-4). Luke Evangelista replied for the Knights (37-19-4-1).
