Judge grants bail for actor accused of forcing jet detour to Newfoundland

GANDER, N.L. – A Newfoundland and Labrador judge has granted a Hollywood actor bail after she allegedly caused trouble on a flight from New York to Paris, forcing a detour to Gander.

Harlee McBride, best known for her role in the 1977 film Young Lady Chatterley, was arrested Sunday after the Air France flight touched down at Gander International Airport.

The RCMP allege a passenger aboard the Boeing 777 was intoxicated and refused to follow instructions from the flight crew.

McBride appeared Tuesday in provincial court where she agreed to pay $10,000 bail.

Her case is due back in court next month.

The 65-year-old is married to actor Richard Belzer of Law and Order fame.
