MONTREAL – Hundreds of people joined Lance Armstrong on a training run in Montreal on Wednesday as a way to show support for the controversial cyclist.
A stampede of runners stormed up the Mont Royal alongside Armstrong in a fast-paced, hour-long run.
The crowd cheered and tried to pose for photos with Armstrong when he arrived at a park before they tackled the hill.
Armstrong was stripped of his seven Tour de France titles after the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency concluded he used banned substances.
The cancer survivor stunned the sports world last week by announcing he will no longer challenge the doping charges against him.
Runner Alan Pelletier says he came out to support Armstrong because he has accomplished so much through his cancer foundation.
Armstrong was in Montreal to speak at the World Cancer Congress.
