Parents charged with murder in death of 4-year-old boy in Toronto townhouse

TORONTO – Toronto police have laid murder charges against the parents of a four-year-old boy who died at a townhouse in the city’s north end.

Paramedics were called to the home early Monday morning and found Jaelin Sollow Roberto-Colley with obvious injuries and no vital signs.

Police say he was declared dead at the scene.

Two people initially charged with failing to provide the necessaries of life had that offence upgraded to first-degree murder Thursday.

Charged are 27-year-old Joel Roberto and 24-year-old Ravyn Colley.

They both appeared in court Thursday.
