Edmonton Oilers re-sign forward Jordan Eberle to six-year contract extension

EDMONTON – The Edmonton Oilers have agreed to a six-year, US$36-million contract extension with forward Jordan Eberle.

The move comes just over a week after the Oilers signed forward Taylor Hall, Eberle’s roommate, to a seven-year, $42-million extension.

The Oilers announced the move Thursday.

The five-foot-11, 184-pound Eberle was a 2008 first-round draft pick.

Eberle, 22, a native of Regina, has registered 52 goals and 67 assists in 147 games over his two seasons with Edmonton.

Eberle had 34 goals and 42 assists in 78 games last year with Edmonton.
