Riverside Park concession stand reopens for summer in ‘last minute’ decision

KAMLOOPS – The Riverside Park concession stand is going to be open this summer, just in time for Canada Day.

The popular concession stand by the beach in Kamloops was scheduled to keep its doors closed this season. Earlier this month, the City of Kamloops announced it wouldn't open the stand this summer due to inconsistent weather.

Papa G's Cafe, which regularly operates the stand during the summer, announced that the City changed its mind this weekend. The Cafe's Facebook page stated the concession stand will be open this summer starting on Canada Day.

"We are very happy to be serving the citizens of Kamloops again in the park this summer," the post said.

Papa G's Cafe's phone voicemail confirms the stand's opening, stating that the restaurant is closed while they prepare the concession stand after a "last minute" decision.
