Holiday Closures at District of West Kelowna

WEST KELOWNA – Offices at District of West Kelowna will close for the holidays at 3 p.m. Christmas Eve, December 24 and reopen by 8:30 a.m. Friday, January 2. Essential services will be provided and curbside collection of waste will occur with some scheduling adjustments. During the holiday closure, the public can call 778-797-1000 for service requests and inquiries.

The holiday closures apply to administrative offices at: Municipal Hall, 2760 Cameron Road; West Kelowna Fire Rescue at 2708 Olalla Road; the Operations Building on Elliott Road; and, the Utilities Building on Bartley Road.

Essential services provided during the closure include:

·         Cemetery
·         Drainage, sewer and water emergencies
·         Fire and rescue services
·         Policing
·         Roads maintenance

Waste collection will continue but some scheduling adjustments will occur during the two-week holiday period. Customers whose normal collection dates would be Thursday, December 25 and January 1 will receive collection on Friday, December 26 and January 2. Customers whose normal collection dates would be Friday, December 26 and January 2 will receive curbside collection on Saturday, December 27 and January 3.

Various recreational programs will also be running throughout the holidays at various facilities including Jim Lind Arena, Johnson Bentley Memorial Aquatic Centre, Royal LePage Place and Webber Road Community Centre.
