Man crashes car into bedroom in Quebec home, killing one and injuring another

SAINT-ALEXIS, Que. – A woman is dead and her partner is seriously injured after a car smashed into their bedroom in a community 60 kilometres north of Montreal.

Quebec provincial police say a driver lost control of his vehicle and it ran into the residence, driving all the way into the couple’s bedroom.

The couple’s three children weren’t hurt.

Alcohol and speed are suspected as factors in the accident early Sunday in the community of Saint-Alexis, in Quebec’s Lanaudiere region.

The driver, who is in 20s, also suffered injuries and was taken to hospital.

A police spokeswoman says he will likely face charges, and tests were performed to determine his blood alcohol level and how fast the car was going when it crashed.
