KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Bradley Wright-Phillips scored twice to tie the MLS season goal record, and the New York Red Bulls beat Sporting Kansas City 2-0 in the league’s regular-season finale on Sunday night.

With his 26th and 27th goals, Wright-Phillips joined Chris Wondolowski (2012) and Roy Lassiter (1996) atop the list.

The Red Bulls (13-10-11, 50 points) also overtook Sporting KC for the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference. Sporting KC (14-13-7, 49 points) dropped to the fifth spot and will visit the Red Bulls for an immediate rematch in the knockout round Thursday night.

Wright-Phillips scored his record-tying goal in the 70th minute. His first goal came when he finished Eric Alexander’s pass in the 15th minute.

CHIVAS USA 1, EARTHQUAKES 0

CARSON, Calif. (AP) — Felix Borja scored in the 32nd minute to lead Chivas USA over San Jose in the season finale for both teams.

Erick Torres beat defender Víctor Bernardez along the end line and bounced his shot off the far post. Borja was in the middle of the box for the rebound and finished with a left-footed toe punch for his third goal of the season.

With the future of the franchise in limbo, the win could mark the end of Chivas USA (9-19-6).

Earthquakes (6-16-12) goalkeeper Jon Busch broke the club record for saves in a season, recording his 138th in the 62nd minute.

CREW 2, UNION 1

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Bernardo Anor scored in the 90th minute, and Columbus earned the No. 3 seed and a knockout-round bye with a victory over Philadelphia.

The Crew (14-10-10) advanced directly to the conference semifinals and will face the No. 2 seed New England Revolution (17-13-4) in a two-game series starting next weekend.

Anor was in the right position from 1 yard out to finish Tony Tchani’s deflected shot for the game-winner.

Zach Pfeffer tied the game for the Union (10-12-12) in the 85th minute with his first career MLS goal.

Jairo Arrieta opened the scoring for the Crew with a breakaway goal in the 13th minute.
