Clarification to Jan. 6 story on court ruling affecting B.C. police watchdog
VANCOUVER – The Canadian Press reported Jan. 6 that British Columbia’s highest court had ordered seven police officers to fully co-operate with an investigation into the shooting death of a robbery suspect in 2016.
The story may have left the impression that the Independent Investigations Office had an ongoing inquiry into the shooting. In fact, the Vancouver police officers did co-operate with the investigation after a lower court ruling and were cleared of any wrongdoing by the province’s police watchdog last February.
