Jean Chretien and Stephen Harper to speak at Kelowna event

KELOWNA – Both Stephen Harper and Jean Chretien are booked to speak at a Kelowna conference later this year.

The Csek Creative and NowMedia’s Level Up 2019 conference will feature the two former Canadian prime ministers, as well as also a retired NBA player, and an impressive list of business leaders.

Political wonks won’t likely see Chretien and Harper face-off, though.

Karen Montgomery, operations manager at Kelowna-based company NowMedia, said the event will feature a day of leadership themed presentations and each speaker will take their turn. The conference will be held at Trinity Baptist Church and tickets range in price from $299 to $1,699.

Other speakers include:

• Darren Hardy a New York Times bestselling author, entrepreneur and former publisher and editor of SUCCESS magazine.
• Omar Johnson, a former CMO at Beats by Dre, former VP of marketing at Apple, entrepreneur and keynote speaker.
• Walter Bond, a former NBA player and current motivational maestro.
• Cybele Negris, the CEO and co-founder of Webnames.ca Inc., Negris has been the director of Royal Canadian Mint since Oct. 18, 2017. She is on the Board of the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs. She has been recognized by PROFIT W100 as one of Canada's Top Women Entrepreneurs several times (2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007).
• Janet Zuccarini, the CEO and owner of Gusto 54 Restaurant Group, Zuccarini is the sole owner and visionary behind Gusto 54. In 2019, she received the “ICCO Air Canada Business Excellence Award” for Businesswoman of the Year.
• Lane Merrifield, who was just 28 when he sold his first company for $350 million and accepted his next challenge as one of the youngest executive vice presidents at the Walt Disney Company.

The one-day event will be held on Sept. 27.
