13-year-old author in Kelowna tomorrow for book tour

KELOWNA – 13 year old Nathan McTaggart has just launched his third children’s book and is embarking on a 10-day book tour, stopping in Kelowna July 11. Nathan and his father will be meeting with MLA Steve Thomson, MLA Norm Letnick and Fire Chief Travis Whiting at the Fire Hall on Enterprise Way for a tour.

Nathan's newest book, Brandy and Her Super Hero, features a dog who helps fire fighters rescue two stranded individuals from a forest fire in the Williams Lake area. The book pays homage to Nathan’s Super Heroes, first responders, which are also featured in his two earlier books, Santa and his Super Hero and Zippy and His Super Hero.

The net proceeds of all Nathan’s books go to charity. Since the launch of the first book two years ago, $2,500 has been raised for the B.C. Professional Fire Fighters Burn Fund and more than $2,000 has been donated to other deserving charities.

The proceeds from Nathan’s third book will go towards Fire Fighters Without Borders Canada and Pacific Assistance Dogs Society.
