Derrick Rose out against Timberwolves with sprained left ankle

MINNEAPOLIS – Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose is out for the game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday night, one day after leaving the game against Cleveland with a sprained left ankle.

Rose was considered a game-time decision against the Wolves. He warmed up before the game, but it was ultimately decided he would not play. Coach Tom Thibodeau said before the game that Rose was feeling better and he was convinced the former MVP would make a full return after missing most of the last two seasons with knee problems.

Taj Gibson was also out with an injured ankle, but guard Jimmy Butler made a surprising return to the starting lineup after missing the first two games of the season with a sprained left thumb.
