Crown wants seven years in prison for B.C. man who lured girls online

VERNON, B.C. – The Crown is calling for a seven-year prison sentence for a man who admitted to luring young girls online.
David Willerth pleaded guilty to 18 charges, 16 of them for communicating via the Internet to lure a child under 16, one for possession of child pornography and another for arranging a sexual offence against a child.
The Crown called Willerth’s actions planned and deliberate, saying he set up a Facebook account under a false name and posed as a modelling agent to get girls between 12 and 16 to send him nude photographs.
Forty-year-old Willerth was arrested in July 2013 after police seized computers from a home in Vernon.
On Tuesday, Willerth told a sentencing hearing that he is sorry for his actions, adding he wants to get help so he doesn’t reoffend.
A B.C. Supreme Court judge is expected to sentence him on Friday.
