Man gets 90 days in jail for car bomb and bear spray incidents at same house

OLIVER – A 19-year-old Oliver, B.C., man who pleaded guilty to charges involving a car bomb and bear spray incident has been sentenced to 90 days in jail and two years' probation.

Stephan Daoust will serve his sentence in weekends.

In August, he placed a bomb under a car, causing it to blow shrapnel through a garage.

Less than a month later, a canister of bear spray was discharged inside the same house, leading to an assault charge.

Police say Daoust targeted a young man who lived there.

Daoust's 23-year-old brother Eric was also charged in connection with the car bomb incident but pleaded not guilty.
