Glenn Beck says he’s been suffering from health issues for nearly 5 years

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Talk show host Glenn Beck says he has been suffering for the past several years from autoimmune and adrenal disorders that left him worried for his life, but he’s now on the road to recovery.

Beck, the former Fox News Channel host who has built his own online and television network, The Blaze, said he had seen several doctors before a group in Dallas seemed to find what was wrong with him and reversed many of his symptoms.

Beck said that he suffered seizures, was losing mental capacity and felt intense, unexplained pain in his limbs. His health problems, which he had not revealed publicly before, were behind many absences from his show and were even why he moved his headquarters from New York to Dallas.

He said it was also behind statements that he’s made about the need to love one another, and his efforts to apologize to some people he felt he wronged. The possibility of a shortened lifespan gave him a different outlook, he said.

“Maybe you didn’t notice, but I’ve been gone,” Beck said on his show Monday night. “But I’m happy to say I’m back.”
