BUFFALO, N.Y. – Police say one person is dead and another has been injured after a shooting at the Buffalo bar widely credited with inventing the spicy chicken wings now known everywhere as Buffalo-style wings.
The incident happened around 7 p.m. at the Anchor Bar.
Police say the suspect walked into the kitchen and shot a 32-year-old employee, killing him. They say a ricocheting bullet grazed a 36-year-old man who also was working in the kitchen. Authorities say he suffered a non-life-threatening injury.
Police say the suspect appeared to have targeted the man who was killed, but provided no further information.
They say the suspect ran off after the shooting. Investigators have collected surveillance video from the restaurant and are questioning witnesses.
The Anchor Bar began serving their chicken wings in 1964.
