‘Hugo Cabret’ author-illustrator Brian Selznick has new book, ‘The Marvels,’ due out in 2015

NEW YORK, N.Y. – The author-illustrator of “The Invention of Hugo Cabret” has a new creation set for a September release.

Scholastic Inc. announced Thursday that Brian Selznick’s next book is called “The Marvels.” According to the publisher, “The Marvels” will combine an illustrated story about an 18th-century shipwreck survivor and his descendants and a prose tale about a mysterious house in modern London.

Selznick’s previous works also include “Boy of a Thousand Faces” and “Wonderstruck.” Martin Scorsese adapted “Hugo Cabret” into the Oscar-winning movie “Hugo,” released in 2011.
