Juneau police release name of man found dead in pond
JUNEAU, Alaska – Juneau police say a man found dead in a pond has been positively identified.
The body of 25-year-old Christian Knapp of Juneau was recovered from a pond in the Mendenhall Valley. The cause of his death has not been released.
A woman shortly after 3:30 p.m. July 3 called police to report a body floating in the pond near Mendenhall Loop about two blocks north of the Glacier Highway.
Capital City Fire and Rescue recovered the body in about 4 feet (1.2 metres) of water in a marshy area with tall grass.
The state medical examiner conducted an autopsy to identify Knapp.
