Future Kamloops Search and Rescue canine recruit needs a name

KAMLOOPS – Kamloops Search and Rescue needs your help to find a name for a possible new canine recruit.

In a post shared on Facebook, the volunteer search and rescue organization has put out the call for names for the Belgian Malinois pup.

"This little guy is thinking about joining our team, but he can't do that without a name," the post reads. "He has a list of possibilities but none seem quite right."

Some of the names suggested so far are focused on his ears and his mask-like markings, such as Yoda, Zorro, Bandit and Yoshi. Other suggestions have focused more on the future job the pup might hold, such as Rogue, Sherlock Bones,  Zoeker, which is Dutch for “seeker,” and Percy, short for perseverance.

You can add your suggestions to the post on Kamloops Search and Rescue Facebook page here.

They hope to find him a name by the end of the day on July 31.
