BERLIN – Official data show that the German economy, Europe’s biggest, returned to modest growth in the third quarter — expanding by 0.1 per cent after contracting slightly in the previous three-month period.
The quarter-on-quarter growth reported Friday by the Federal Statistical Office was in line with economists’ expectations.
It follows a contraction of 0.1 per cent in the April-June period — a figure that was revised from the initial reading of 0.2 per cent.
