PENTICTON – The Canadian Forces Skyhawks Parachute Team is fast becoming a Penticton favourite act, as their performance during the first day of the Penticton Peach Festival yesterday brought hundreds to Okanagan Lake Park.
Under mostly clear and sunny skies, and searing temperatures in the mid-30s, the team performed flawlessly, building their close-proximity formations in the sky.

The team appears to becoming increasingly popular in Penticton, as year after year the crowds gathering in Okanagan Lake Park get larger and larger.
The Skyhawks performed at 5 p.m. this afternoon, Aug. 7, followed by the Snowbirds Air Demonstration squadron. The weather couldn’t have been better for an aerial performance, with only a slight haze in Penticton indicating the Eagle Bluff wildfire burning around 20 km south of the city.

Hundreds more filled the park and adjacent beach to watch the ever-popular iconic Canadian aerobatic team perform over Okanagan Lake at 5 p.m.

Dozens of boats sat about a kilometre offshore to watch the roughly half hour aerial spectacle.
